Our First Show Featuring Snappies!

September 11, 2018

A Proud Kimberly shows off her product!

We’ve had so much fun developing this product line, and even after all our preparations we consider our first event a success! We met so many nice people, and figured out so much about selling in this type of venue, even if we didn’t quite roll in the dough we were satisfied that we met our goals for this first outing.

Just getting the Snappies and SnapAccessories priced and packaged was a big effort, and I’ll admit to a couple of long days just before the Bowie, Texas Second Monday event. But it was all worthwhile when we stepped back and admired the results of our hard work. The whole family pitched in, and we got a lot of compliments on our displays and setup.

Getting the kinks worked out with the card reader, pricing and policies was worth the effort alone. Now we’re ready to go on to the next challenge, Oktoberfest in Muenster, Texas. Lots more product coming in, and we’re so excited to share this fun and fashionable product line with our friends in the North Texas area!

Now Why Didn’t I Think Of That?!?

June 16, 2018

Did you ever come up with a “scathingly brilliant” idea, but didn’t follow through and some time later you see that same idea being offered in the marketplace? Well, that happened to me, and I’m overjoyed!
The product is called “snap-button jewelry” and it’s exactly what you’d think it is… buttons with snaps on the back, to attach to jewelry and other accessories. I made a bunch of samples of this idea about 10 years ago using sewing snaps. It worked great, but I could see that someone would eventually have to manufacture the components, and I wasn’t that someone. The most fun about developing the idea, though, was putting together little jeweled buttons and adornments to switch out on my basic accessories (I made belts, headbands, pins, and a few jewelry items).
So now that I can buy the basic findings, I’m free to design snap buttons with my favorite sparklies; Czech glass buttons are the first (and most obvious) application, but my huge inventory of jewelry findings, focal jewels, and other unique components will come in handy as I explore the multitude of options this new product has offered.
As I work with this idea, I’ll be offering my designer samples for sale – I hope you find them as fun as I do, and will share your feedback on both the finished products and the eventual how-to instructions

Sparkle Lace: The Dancer’s Jewelry

August 27, 2015

Dancers – especially Ballroom dancers – want costumes that attract attention, express the character of the dance, and enhance the performance of the dancer…all while being lightweight and flexible.

Costume jewelry can be too heavy and rigid for the movement involved in dancing, so we created our own “jewelry” to complement our custom costumes with these needs in mind. We call our unique line of accessories “FlexJewels.”  From earrings, necklaces, belts, and even shoe clips; FlexJewels creates that attention to detail that puts the finishing touch on a perfectly pulled-together performance. Most of our custom-made accessories were especially crafted to complement our couture costumes, however we also love creating one-of-a-kind accessories that stand alone in their elegance and uniqueness. Here is a portfolio of just some of the custom accessories we’ve created:
